This uniform is an example of the navy blues issued to sailors of the Royal Australian Navy for Winter dress. This is an example of a  private purchase uniform bought by John Cornell Whittle while he was stationed in Sydney in 1944.  Although in poor condition, it is still a stable and fine example of the blues uniform.
