BACK (COLLECTION SPOTLIGHT) (1950s) BACK

This 1946 dated greatcoat is a late example of the kind used during the Second World War. It is an interesting example, as this pattern was replaced with the Pattern 1946 the same year, which introduced a double breasted front for other rank soldiers. Despite being from the mid-1940's, the coat was likely used during the 1950's. this is indicated by the St George Regiment shoulder titles, which are of the 1948-1960 variety.  The coat was owned by Lance Corporal A. E. Stahl
