UNITED NATIONS KOREA MEDAL

The United Nations Service Medal (Korea) is awarded to members who were posted with the United Nations forces in Korea between 27th of June 1950, and 27th of July 1954. The medal is also awarded to personnel who served in adjacent areas like Japan and Okinawa operating under UN command or sent to support UN operations in Korea in the relevant period from 1950 to 1954. (Aust. Gov. Defence) This particular medal was awarded to Private Lachlan Webb of 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, who served in Korea in the final months of hostilities. Webb is also entitled to the British Korean War Service medal, however, this is not present in the collection.
